Kate Bosworth wore this outfit to a store opening in NYC this week but I thought it would be a perfect look for the office. The skirt is a perfect length & instead of the clutch get out the large hobo. Love!

I think that work attire can sometimes get very mundane and boring. So, I love to mix things up and try new styles for work that are not so traditional. I recently discovered Pencil Skirts & Lattes Blog and found some great ideas for work outfits.
You can see that she wears a lot of pencil skirts, stocking and boots. I love how she always throws in a perfect scarf, purse or blazer to spice up her look.
Fall is here and those slightly cool days are perfect sweater-weather, and one of my favorite fall pieces is the sweater-tunic. Just a step below sweater dresses, tunics run a little long and create a sleek, feminine silhouette while keeping you warm and cozy as the seasons change.
It’s an easy, simple, cozy outfit that’s perfect for autumn, and the best part is that it’s just under $100!
This episode of Project Runway 2011 was all about Nina Garcia the chief editor of Marie Claire Magazine. The designers had to design an outfit that she can wear at work and then at night for a fashion event. The winner of the challenge was Kimberly Goldson, she created a beautiful gold top & amazingly tailored blue navy pants. Nina Garcia wore the outfit & it was featured as an editorial in Marie Claire magazine. I would totally wear this outfit as well. It was so chic and well made.

One of the tips was to stick to polished pieces – simple chic outfits like a pencil skirt or a feminine blouse are a great way to go. You can always accent with heels, a great bag & some jewelry.
Every morning when I get ready for work I spend so much time picking out my outfit. I figured if I work with a few key pieces, I could hit the snooze button a few more times. This week I am going to pick 10 pieces from my wardrobe and create outfits for the entire week. The basics are the building blocks of any outfit and they leave you free to experiment with the fun but more risky trend pieces.
I am going to give you a list to work from and show you my ideal set of basics. This formula works for me and keeps me sane in the morning. And trust me, having these ten items in your wardrobe will guarantee you’ll always look polished.
