Milas 5th Birthday – All Girls Spa Party

This year we were so excited to celebrate Mila’s 5th Birthday Party. We had very lengthy conversations about what she wanted & how it was all going to be done. For nearly 6 months before her actual birthday, on the way to school, she would ask me to tell her about her All Girl Spa Party. We were very excited when the actual day came & could not be happier with the result. I used the services of Vanessa from SweetSpas & she was amazing. Vanessa & her helpers came over & set up all the stations & the decor. It was the easiest party I have ever done. The only thing I really had to do was get the food, drinks & dessert…the rest was done by SweetSpas. We invited 20 girls & about 15 ended up coming. When the girls arrived, they did a craft at the main table where they colored a drawing of a face which would ultimately be what their makeup looked like. When everyone arrived, they sat at the big table together & started the first beauty treatment. The girls put on chocolate face masks & cool cucumbers, the pictures were just so adorable. They loved putting on the mask & were giggling when they put the cucumbers over their eyes. After the masks were removed, everyone moved to the stations that they wanted. Mila picked to get her nails done first & then her makeup. We also set up a table where the girls could make necklaces & bracelets.

For lunch, for the moms, I served sushi, salads & had a cheese platter. For the girls we had pizza & juice. After we sang happy birthday & cut the beautiful Spa Cake, the girls played a game with Vanessa. The party lasted about 3 hours which was the perfect amount of time for everyone to get pampered & have fun.

Lavendar Baby Shower Ideas – Baby Headband Making Station

Headband Making Station
Headband Making Station
Headband Making Station

I hosted a baby shower for a good friend this weekend & it was so much fun. I  didn’t do the typical baby shower games but created a baby headband making station where all the ladies could make cute flower headbands.

For the headband making station, I got a lot of different flowers & pre-made different colored headbands so people can just glue the flower or clusters of flowers to the headband.

Here’s what you need:

  • Lots of Flowers from The Ribbon Retreat
  • Fold Over Elastic from The Ribbon Retreat
  • Felt Circles or Squares
  • Hot Glue Gun

If you need more detailed info on how to make the headbands, you can go here.

For the decor I rented some white tables & chairs, used lavender tablecloths & got some lace fabric at Joann’s to put on top of the table. I hung up a personalized sign & got some Pouf Balls to hang around the apartment.

It was a lovely shower & everyone had a blast making the headbands.

4th of July Party Ideas

I love the 4th of July! We have hosted on the 4th for the last few years since we have great a great view of the fireworks from our balcony & I always love to decorate our place so the party is even more festive.

Here are some fun ideas to decorate for your party
1) Watermelon Stars – this project is really easy. You just need to get a big watermelon & some star cooking cutters. I have a mix of big & small stars & they are a hit every year.

2) Hanging Stars – I got mine at the 99cent store but they also carry them at Walmart. They are so inexpensive & are such a fun decoration.

3) Free Printable  – get some free printables online for cupcake toppers & food labels.

4) Fruit Flag – get white grapes, strawberries & blueberries. See pic below on how to create this fun snack.

I’ve got puppy love for any adorable animal themed party, but especially when it’s in PINK! I threw this cute Pink Puppy Dog Party to celebrate my daughters’ 2nd birthday. Her love of dogs and favorite color (pink of course!) inspired the dog bone cookies and pink puppy dog cake topper. Vanessa Yufe from Sweet and Social Events helped with the decorations.

PARTY DETAILS, told by Masha…

For my daughter’s second birthday I chose a theme that has everything to do with her and represents what she liked & talked about most in her life: dogs. I chose the colors light pink & yellow and my good friend & party decorator, Vanessa Yufe helped with the decorations. The party was at a beautiful park called Tidelands Park in Coronado. The centerpieces of the tables were also made by Vanessa Yufe of Sweet and Social Events.

For the kids party favors, I set up a table with an “Adopt a Puppy” Sign, all the kids got to go home with a little fluffy pup. For the entertainment, we had a company come that brought 12 little dogs that the kids could play with & pet. They are based out of LA, you can get their info by clicking on this link – Puppy Party.

If you want to see more pics of the party, you can view them in my Picassa album online – HERE.

My little Russian doll was about to turn 1, so I started thinking of ideas for her first birthday party. I always took out Matryoshka Dolls for her to play with & she loved them, so I decided we would have this theme for her 1st birthday celebration.  I enlisted the help of my family member & a very talented party planner, Vanessa Yufe. She was the one that brought my vision to life. She designed and styled this Matryoshka Doll (Nesting Doll) themed party for my daughters first birthday. She handcrafted every detail from the wreaths, to the beautiful little tea bags, the table decorations & so much more . There where 6 adult tables & a kids table outside with crayons & pictures of Matryoshka Dolls for them to color. We also had a jumpy house & a baby area for all of Mila’s little 1 year old friends. My favorite was the dessert table. It was so beautifully styled & put together. The Matryoshka doll cookies, cup cake toppers & the Matryoshka Cake Topper were soo adorable. For the adult entertainment, we had a slide show of Mila’s 1st year & of coarse light drinks for the grown ups. All in all there wasn’t a single detail over looked, it was a perfect day.

This English Tea Party Baby Shower is just the definition of lovely in so many ways… from the gorgeous flower arrangements, to the lovely table cloths & dainty tea cups, everything is perfect.

This baby shower was put together by my mama and friends. The thought and attention to every little detail really shows,  it exceeded all my expectations and was so stunning.

The food was very delicate and delightful. We enjoyed little sandwiches, fruit, scones, pastries & chocolates. Tea was served in beautiful porcelein tea sausers &  tea cups.

The entertainment included toasts given by family & friends. A poem read by my little 6 year old cousin and a dance performance by her as well. The games included, a timed competition coming up with as many words that start with the letter “T”, you would get an extra point if the word included the word “tea” and guessing the identity of the baby picture that were used as seating cards.

The ladies were all asked to wear hats and pearls which added to the ambiance of the party and made pictures unforgettable.

English Tea Party - How to throw an english tea party

Afternoon tea began back in the mid 1800s, when the Duchess of Bedford started having a tray of tea with bread and butter served to her in the mid-afternoon. In those days, lunch was served at noon but dinner was not eaten until 8 or even 9 o’clock at night. The Duchess found herself hungry during those long afternoon hours. It became a regular occurrence and as she began to invite other high-society ladies to join her, having Afternoon Tea became the ‘in-thing’ for the upper-class women. Along with tea, there would be small pastries with clotted cream or preserves, delicate sandwiches, and scones.

English Tea Party - Baby Shower, Bridal Shower Ideas

Today, the tradition is still enjoyed by many. I love the little dainty tea cups, delicious scones & mini sandwiches. I think having an English tea party is an awesome idea for a baby shower, briday shower or just a relaxed afternoon with friends.

Baby Shower Menu Ideas

This weekend I hostess a baby shower for my friend, Neeru and I wanted to share some of my decorations for the shower. The theme was butterflies & flowers.

This day was PERFECT! The weather was beautiful, the company was delightful, and celebrating Neeru and her baby girl {on the way} with lots of girlie goodness was just so wonderful!

I used a lot of different colored butterflies, pink pompoms & flowers for decor. I also made a diaper cake & an advice tree. I purchased some tablecloths to decorate the dessert table and gift table.

On the menu we had a zucchini, broccoli & bell pepper frittata, 2 different kinds of quiche, a fresh citrus spinach & avocado salad, a chinese chicken salad & some mini salmon bagels. For the drinks, I had pink lemonade, to go with the pink theme & of coarse some grapefruit juice mimosas for the guests.

For the dessert table I purchased some beautiful pink cupcakes, I made a baby carriage out of a watermellon to hold the fruit salad & we also had home made ice cream sandwiches.

For the advice tree, I created Wish Cards with pieces of pink, yellow and green card stock. Guests were asked to write advice & wishes for the new mom to be and were asked to hang their cards on the tree so later the guest of honor, Neeru, could take them home. It was a huge hit and a fun project that doubled as a great gift and keepsake!
